OVERVIEW
SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE INC. is a maritime economic consulting firm
whose activities fall mainly into four areas:
- First, the publication of:
- the SHIPPING MONITOR,
- and the GUIDE TO RESIDUAL VALUES AND TIME CHARTER RATES.
These publications are based on extensive databases, analytical models and Monte-Carlo Simulations of the ship resale and charter markets.
- Second, the valuation of ships, both current and past values, as well
as future and residual values and their probabilities. SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE
is a leader in constructing methods for the evaluation of hard to value
vessels.
- Third, the valuation of company fleets of bulk carriers and tankers and their
earning power, current and projected. These valuations can be done for actual
owned fleets or for projected fleets. Shipping Intelligence has access to fleet
specifications of many publicly owned shipping companies.
- And fourth, special, hard to classify, custom research tasks related
to the
maritime industry.
These projects often use operations research methods and advanced
computer technology.
